Kitty Rose Website       Kitty Rose , classic country star, is celebrating 25 years in the music business this
past summer. From her beginnings in Houston, Texas, where she like many artists
of her generation began singing in church choir, she performed at age 12 in the
Superdome in New Orleans and her first song was published at age 13. As a rising
star, she appeared at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and seemed destined for
stardom, but fate forced her to leave her Texas home and Kitty all but disappeared
from country music, winding her way through punk, metal and rock bands on the
dangerous streets of Hollywood. But her country roots kept showing through that bleached blond hair and with new found confidence, Kitty returned to her true calling, releasing "Kitty Rose Greatest Hits!" in the summer of 2005. She's opened for Hootie & The Blowfish to Aaron Tippen, Southern Culture on the Skids to Amanda Marshall, The Blasters to Red Meat, and over 200 Americana and Specialty radio stations took up the call. She was awarded the Outmusic Award for best debut female artist in 2005.
